Davidson, the new Minister of Public Works, has notified all the members of bls department that the Government insists that they shall join unions if they have not already done so. Preference of employment will be given to those belonging to industrial organisations. STATE BUTCHERY New Government Scheme As a result of the Sydney slaughtermen’s strike, the Lang Government is considering the establishment of a State butchery at Homebush, and besides carrying on slaughtering would also effect the distribution of meat.
