OBITUARY
Mr. H. E. Muncaster The death occurred on Saturday at the Public Hospital, Waipukurau, of Mr. Herbert Edward Muncaster, reports a “Dominion” Special Service message. The late Mr. Muncaster was born in Wellington in 1870, and educated in Blenheim, after which he entered the jewellery business of his father and learned the watchmaking trade. In 1907 he came to Waipukurau, setting up a jewellery business of his own, one of the first three shops in the district Mr. Muncaster was a foundation member of the Chamber of Commerce, and also of the Bowling Club, of which he was made an honorary life member, after having taken an active part in the game for many years. Of late years his active interest had been mainly confined to rhe game of chess, at .which he became an expert. His services will be greatly missed in the activities of the Waipukurau Presbyterian Church. Deceased married in 1912 Miss Eliza Warren. Mrs. T. Watterston The death of Mrs. T. Watterston. late of Shannon and Lower Hutt, in her fortyeighth year, has removed one of the early settlers of the'Wairarapa and Manawatu districts. The deceased lady had been in fatting health for some time, and recently found it necessary to undergo an operation, which proved unsuccessful. The deceased was an active member of the Shannon and Hautana Croquet Clubs, and also a member of the Mothers’ League. She is survived by her husband, a son, and daughter. Master E. and Miss Nan Watterston. She was the third daughter of Philip Eauvel, retired farmer, late of Eketahuna, and now of Palmerston North. 1 ■ ' '
