Friday’s Programme

With a busy road season now definitely .at an- end, the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club (Inc.), affiliated to the New Zealand Union of Cyclists, puts into practice for the first time next Friday its plan to hold twilight cycling meetings on the Basin Reserve during the track season. The programme and officials for next Friday’s gathering were fixed at a committee meeting last evening. The'first race will be a 440 yards open handicap, due to start at. 0.30 p.m. Other events are the mile open and the three mile open “miss and out” race. Boys and juniors will take pprt in a half-mile handicap set aside for them. Competitors are reminded that entries close at the Cambria. Cycle Depot, Cambridge Terrace, at 5.15 p.m, to-morrow

Olficials at the meeting were appointed as. follow :—Judges. Messrs. R. Nixdn and E. Warner: referee, Mr. W. Sutherland ; handicapper. Mr. M. Matson; lap stewa'rd, Mr. H. E. Pai.sley; enclosure steward, Mr. L. Gent; megaphonist, Mr. E. Staveley; marksman. Mr. M. Matson. Three new members were, elected at last evening’s meeting. ■ , ;
