A mysterious affair occurred in Dublin. Shots were fired outside tho house of Professor HayOs, Speaker of tho Dail. A guard who returned the fire was wounded and taken to hospital. There was much police activity in Dublin, including the holding up of tramcars and motor-cars. Many rumours are floating about the city, one being that the Sneaker himself was attacked and woutfted. Professor Michael Hayes, M.A. Speaker of the Dail. Eirann, has held his position together with that of chairman of the Civil Service Commission, since 1922. He is 41 years of age, a graduate of University College, Dublin, and in 1922 was Minister for Education.
