'RACKETEERS’ IN CONTROL
Vancouver, November 23.
Racketeers controlling the movement of freights nt railway and steamship terminals collect millions of dollars yearly, and their action reduces the shippers’ rates three cents per hundred pounds on merchandise in and out of New York, according to information reaching District Attorney Crain. Astounding stories are told of how small traders pay tribute to racketeers and of how others are blackmailed.
