GORED BY BUFFALO
New Zealander Injured
BIG GAME BAG SECURED (Rec. Nov. 24, 11.30 p.m.) Sydney, November 24. Hunting experiences in Africa were related by two young New Zealanders, Messrs. H, Thomas and 3. Holmes, who arrived by the liner Themlstocles. Their “bag” consisted of twenty different kinds of animals. Thomas nearly lost his life during an encounter with a wounded buffalo, which gored him in the thigh. His companions carried him twenty miles te a mission station, where he was under treatment for many weeks. The scene of their hunting exploits was between Northern Rhodesia and the Belgian Congo. A third member of the party, Mr. A. McKinnon, left the ship at Melbourne.
