Dances at Day’s Bay
Sir, —In reference to Councillor Shearin's remarks in .“The Dominion” of November 20 re the conduct of dances held every Saturday night at Day’s Bay, stating they were no credit to the council, we, the Kit Kat Dance Band,, wish to state that such remarks are quite uncalled for, as the weekly dances are conducted as well if not better than any dance held in Wellington. i Councillor .Shearin is no doubt listening to hearsay and .should, before making such statements, at least make it his business to visit one of these dances; he would then be in a better position to speak on the conduct of same. Why does he not take the lead of his Worship the Mayor of Eastbourne. who, as he stated z at the council meeting, has personally attended one of these dances and fou.nd nothing anyone could take objection to.— We are, etc., . ■ , . KIT KAT DANCE BAND. November 21.
