THROWN INTO DAM
Mother and Child Saved FARMER’S PLUCKY ACTION Sydney, November 22. Mrs. Mowsar and her four-year-old daughter were thrown Into a dam at Marrar, Southern New South Wales, through the overturning of a sulky when the pony shied. The husband, a local farmer, unable to swim, rushed to the spot, tied a rope round his body, attached the other end to a fence, waded hi beyond his depth, and recovered the bodies separately He blew down the victims’ throats, and breathing gradually returned. The neighbours were summoned and applied orthodox resuscitation methods. The daughter was soon completely nor mal. The wife was seven hours in recovering. •
