HAWKE CUP CRICKET
Manawatu v. Wairarapa Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, November 20. The Manawatu representative cricket eleven is to meet a Wairarapa eleven on Thursday, November 28, in a Hawke Cup match. The weather up till the present has prevented the opening of the season and now only one playing Saturday remains before the fixture. Manawa! u’s prospects do not look too hopeful, for those who are likely to be chosen in the team have had no opportunity to practise together. A.trial match was arranged for two evenings during the week, but bad luck in the form of wet weather again dogged (he association and prevented this match materialising. Should the weather he fine to-morrow the competitions will be opened and no trial match is likely to he played before the game against Wairarapa.
