RADIO ON TRAINS
Advance in Wireless TRIAL IN ENGLAND ' London, November 20. \ At a cost of a shilling passengers on the London and North-Eastern Railway between King’s Cross and Leeds will henceforward be able to while away the time listening to the broadcast of a wireless programme. A headphone is attached to every seat in both classes. A brief trial on a run to-day demon strated the advance in wireless aboard trains since experiments were begun in 1924. Programmes from London and Paris were heard very clearly except in tunnels, but a slight cracking, due probably to electric signals, has not yet been eliminated. McMichael, Limited, carried out the installation, which later will be extended to other London and North-Eastern Railway trains. .
