Dear Boys and Girls, — I susflect Father Time of mixing these close-to-Christmas Weeks with a pinch of Hurry-powder. It’s magic you know and its always in the air when you hear say “Plow time flies!” There is so much to be done in such a short time that if we don’t hurry too, we shall never be ready'at the same time as Father Christmas. - - Can you guess what his workrooms, away up at the North Pole, must be like now? They will be packed with toys; toys for all the world. Those rooms must look very mulch like Kiwi’s office just after a competition has closed. I am sure Mrs. Christmas is not permitted to put so much as her nose inside the door—and there zvouldn’t be room for it, anyway. In the meantime we can just think about what we HOPE he will bring us, and see that our widest chimney does not gel too sooty—dear me, I must remind you all about the Christmas competitions. !• want your work to be of a higher standard than ever this year, and I hope all our artists and versemakers will enter, even the under-tens, for whom a special story competition is being held. Several little articles have already appeared, and by these\, $ pan see that we i.are going to have d . really jolly page. You will find details of the competitions in another corner of the page.
