SHANNON NOTES
The weekly competition at Shannon on the croquet green, which was held recently, resulted in a win for Mrs. Picard, with Mrs. J. F. Bovis runner-up. Owing to the unsettled weather It has so far been impossible to play any matches for the club silver brooches. Mrs. B. G. Tayler, secretary of the Shannon branch of the Plunket Society, is attending the annual conference in XVellington’ as the delegate from Shannon.
As a preparation to commencing the surfacing of the main highways, the ornamental trees have been removed from Ballance Street, Shannon, and material for the work is arriving daily.
