Captain F. R. Matthews has crashed between Bangkok and Singora. No details are available. [Captain Matthews left Croydon on September 16 on a solo flight to Australia. He met the full fury of the south-west monsoon between Rangoon and Bangkok, and In a forced landing his aeroplane was damaged, robbing him of the chance of beating Hinkler’s record. • He decided to continue to Australia and attempt a record flight back to Suglaad,}
