PETONE ROWING CLUB

Annual Dance The I’etone Rowing Club house was prettily deeorated on Monday night for the thirty-first annual ball of the club, when about 120 couples graced the floor. The supper tables were decorated with blue and gold, the club’s colours. Arrangements were perfectly carried out by the club secretary, Mr. R. N. Hollick, and a strong committee, while the ladies, attended to the supper. The officials for the dance were: Patron, Mr. W. J. Donovan; president, Mr. G. Findlay; captain, Mr; J. MeLauchlijn; deputycaptain, Mr. A. E. Jones; treasurer, Mr. G. R. Davis. The following comprised the ladies’ committee: — Mesdames Boyd, blaek satin; Taylor, beaded georgette; Gardiner, green moire satin; Slihn, blue taffeta; Jones, red georgette; White, apricot lace; McLauchlan, muiive taffeta; Monks, white lace; W. O. Clark, white marietta and lace; Misses Collins, green taffeta; Hume, apricot moire satin; M. Senior, lemon crepe de chine and net; G. Senior, black floral georgette; K. Culshaw, powder blue net; M. O’Connell, green taffeta. LADIES’ SHOOTING The monthly shoot of the Hutt Valley Ladies’ Club was won by Mrs. Nightingale, with Mrs. Lusty runner-up. Miss Pointon won the President’s Button. and Mrs. Ells was runner-up. PURCELL MEMORIAL CUP Included among the nfcesentations made by Mr. Walter Nash, M.P., at the annual smoke concert of the Petone Rugby Football Club on Saturday night, was the Purcell Memorial Cup.
