PAY ON RELIEF WORKS
Married and Single Men
No difference is to be made in the rates of pay for married and single men on relief works. This information was given by the Minister of Public Works, Hon. W. B. Taverner, when replying to Mr. W. J. Polson (ind., Stratford) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Taverner said single men were only engaged, after the needs of married men for employment had been satisfied, and then only for comparatively short periods.
