Town and Country The wedding was solemnised at the Wanganui Registry Office on Thursday, July 24, of Mary Fore, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kwong Chong, of Aramoho, Wanganui, to Harry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wong, China. The bride wore a travelling costume of grey, with | hat to match, and fox fur, and carried a posy of violets. In the evening the jrSrriage was celebrated by a gathering of Chinese residents at the home of the bride’s parents at Aramoho. Spencer has returned to Palmerston North from a visit to Wellington. : Miss Joan Monckton has returned to Hawke’s Bay, after spending a holiday in Palmerston North with Mrs. W. J. Phillips, of Victoria Avenue. Mrs. Rist of Auckland, who haa been on a visit to Rotorua, Palmerston North, and New Plymouth, is now in Wellington. Miss Black, of Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. B. K. Bennett, of Awahuri, left last Wednesday for Auckland, to join the Niagara for San Francisco, to attend a floral conference. Mrs. Thompson, of Evans Bay, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. G. Groves at Mangapakelm, Masterton. Mrs. E. W. Bunny, of Te Ore Oro, Masterton, is staying a short time with her mother, Mrs. Riddiford, at Marton. Miss D. Palmer, of Mauriceville West, is spending a few days in Wellington. A pleasant social afternoon was spent by the members of the St. Matthews’ Ladies’ Guild in the parish hall yesterday afternoon, when opportunity was taken to make a -presentation to Mrs. W. Bullock, who is leaving shortly for Wellington. There was an attendance of about sixty members and friends. Songs were sung by Mesdames Rosewarne, Rigg and Wilkinson, and a recitation’ by Betty Coleman, while Mrs. Bell won a competition. The senior member of the guild, Mrs. J., Welch, presented Mrs. Bullock with a piece of Amphora ware, while Miss J. Aikman gave her a bouquet. Miss Stidolnh also presented Mrs. Welch with a bouquet.
