LONG MEETING

New Zealand Kennel Club

For considerably more than four hours last night the New Zealand Kennel Club held its annual meeting, under the chairmanship of the president, Dr. A. McKillop, of Christchurch. Dispute and more or less plain speaking marked the business transaction, and at 12.15 this morning, just before the election, of officers commenced, yet another difference of opinion took place in the meeting. Much of the discussion centred on the affiliation of specialist clubs, and on challenge regulations, especially on the former, and each of these topics was the subject of special note in the executive’s annual report. At the conclusion of an extremely long discussion the following executive remit was carried: “That no further specialist clubs be affiliated except those catering for all breeds of toy dogs.” An application for affiliation made by the Wellington Alsatian Shepherd Dog Club was. granted, and the affiliations of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association, the New Zealand Alsation Club, the Auckland Bulldog Club, and the New Zealand Cocker Spaniel Club were cancelled.

The election of officers resulted ns follows:—President, Dr. A. McKillop (Christchurch); executive, Messrs. D. Sinclaim (Dannevirke), J. Mason (Wellington). N. Wade (Auckland), W._ Livesedge (Christchurch), J. H. Kissling (Manaxvatu), F. Pepper (Wanganui), and R. Gadd (Wellington); secretary, Mr. S. H. Rastall (Wellington). The meeting closed at 12.50 a.m. with a vote of thanks to the chair.
