COMMODIOUS STAND
Pahiatua Club’s Structure
Dominion Special Service. I’ahiatua, July 25. At the cud of the financial year, June 30, 1930, the Pahiatua Racing Club had a credit balance of £1044/8/2. The report, to be presented to members at the annual meeting, to be hold on Tuesday next, states that the club’s annual gathering held last January was successful, and a profit was made, though the totalisator returns suffered from the prevailing financial depression. The erection of the new stewards’ stand is well advanced and it should be completed in ample time before the club’s next race meeting is held. The building is a substantial structure and should provide all the accommodation required for many years to come. The club again desires to thank those gentlemen who subscribed for the purchase of the cup for the principal handicap at the last meeting, and also Mr. Rodney for presenting a cup for the principal hack event on the second day of the meeting.
