CRYING MARATHON
Girl Weeps 118 Hours After Missing Party Eighteen-year-old Violet Michael, of Attleborough (Mass.), has established a world record by weeping for five days. One evening she was prevented from going to a party, and she began crying. Tears flowed steadily for hours, and all efforts on the part of her parents and fiance to soothe her were in vain. The family doctor was called in, but the weeping continued, and although specialists were consulted and soporifics administered, the girl continued to sob, even in her sleep, and 118 hours passed before she became normal again.
