“POLLYANNA.”
Between two brown covers, lives the most delightful heroine of “Story-book Land.” Have you ever met her? If you’ve read “Pollyanna” you have. Left an orphan at the age of ten years, she lived after with her strict aunt Polly. Pollyanna played always the “Glad Game.” and her gladness was “catching.” Two years later she was accidentally injured and had to lie in bed for three years, but ever found something to be glad about. One fateful date, however, she unfortunately overheard the doctor say: “No, she will never walk again!” Pollyanna screamed with terror. She just couldn’t play the “Game” then! But her clouds showed their silver liuing, when ten months later, she did walk again! Never before was she as glad as on the day when she walked eight steps alone! 0 joy of joys!
