Weddings

GALBREATH—BERTRAM. The wedding took place at Knox Presbyterian Church, Lower Hutt, recently, of Catherine Emma, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Bertram, and John Armour, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Galbreath, Nelson. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was gowned in white mariette and radium lace, with uneven hemline and falling to the ground at the back, and fitting sleeves finished with lace at the wrists. Her bouquet was of snowflakes, solanum, pale pink chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern. Her attendant was Miss Margaret Galbreath, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a frock of blue floral georgette, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of Iceland poppies, marigolds, and maidenhair fern. The Rev. J. McCaw officiated, Mr. Robert Galbreath was best man, and Mrs. Burgess was at the organ. The reception was held in Knox Bibleclass rooms, Mrs. Bertram receiving the guests in a frock of figured grey, mauve coat and grey hat with touches of mauve. Her bouquet was of anemones and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Galbreath, the bridegroom's mother, wore a navy blue silk frock with black hat. Miss Agnes Galbreath wore a brown costume with hat to tone. Mrs. Galbreath travelled in a brown face-cloth coat, with fur collar and cuffs and small felt hat with brown brim and coloured tinsel crown. Among the many useful gifts received by the bride was a beautifully bound Bible from the office-bearers of Knox Church, also a tea-service from the staff of the millinery workroom of Macky, Logan and Caldwell, Ltd. Mr. and Mrs. Galbreath will reside at Nelson.

BOWE—CLEMONT.

A quiet wedding took place at St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, when Ida Joyce, third daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Clemont, and Martin, fifth son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Bowe, of Westport, were married. The bride entered the church on the arm other brother-in-law, Mr. Perry, and wore a frock of white crepe de chine, with semi-fitting corsage, trimmed with floral lace, peaked skirt, with panels of radium lace, and a veil of lace, with orange blossom encircling the head. The Ven. Archdeacon Hansell was the officiating clergyman. Mrs. C. Rose, a sister of the bride, was matron of honour, wearing a itoch of riinkisb-mauve georgette, with felt hat in similar tone, and silver shoes. The bride was also attended by Miss Joan Moreland, a small flower-girl, who is a niece of the bride. She wore a frock of pink georgette and pink and silver bonnetshaped hat to tone. The bride, matron-of-honour, ana flower-girl each carried a bouquet of rosebuds, maidenhair fern, and autumn flowers, to tone with their frocks. Mr. Rose was best man. Afterwards the bride's parents held a reception at their home.
