Fines Inflicted A number of delinquents were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Edward Francis Smith was fined £l, in default seven days’ imprisonment, for casting offensive matter, and for drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. R. E. Walton (Mr. Stevenson), butcher, pleaded guilty to employing a shop assistant for more than 48 hours in a week, and was ordered to pay costs only, 10/-. His assistant, Ernest Wood, was convicted and discharged for working more than 48 hours. A fine of 30/- was imposed on Llewellyn Edwin Williams for having an unlicensed radio set. Ah King was fined £1 for failing to close his shop at 7 p.m. A fine of £lO was imposed on Ernest Thomas Horne (Mr. Perry), licensee of the Prince of Wales Hotel, for selling liquor after hours. Archibald West was fined £2 for being found unlawfully on the premises of the Prince of Wales Hotel.
