More Borrowing Powers By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. July 24, 7.40 p.m.) London, July 23. During the debate in the House of Commons on the second reading of the Bill for raising the borrowing powers under unemployment Insurance to 60 millions, Miss Margaret Bondfle*- (Minister of Labour) estimated tbaf 173,000 persons would be added to the Benefits as the result of recent legislation. Mr. Graham White (Liberal) said the country already had spent five hundred millions on unemployment. The closure was carried by 273 votes to 101, and the Bill was read a second time.
