Untried Players Wanted CANTERBURY VIEWS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, July 23. The Canterbury Rugby Union passed a resolution that the New Zealand Union be asked if it cannot see its way clear to arrange for the inter-island game to be played in Christchurch this year, the teams to be comprised of players who have not been included in the present All Black Test side, with a view to giving these players a chance to show themselves, and to give the selectors an idea of their ability in view of the visit of the Australian team here next season. WAKEFIELD RETIRING By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. London, July 23. The well-known footballer. Wakefield, announces his definite retirement. The Railway Department announce in this issue that in connection with the fourth Rugby Test match at Wellington, special last trains will run from New Plymouth, Napier, Wauganui, Palmerston North, Woodville, and Masterton. There will be special reduced fares from all stations.
