LORRY CAPSIZES
Death of Driver A verdict that Albert Bell Shelbourne, aged 52, died from injuries received when his lorry through some means or other got out of control and capsized in Charlotte Avenue, was returned by Mr. T. B. McNeil, S.M. (coroner), at an inquest yesterday. The evidence showed that after Mr. Shelbourne, with his lorry heavily laden with sand, had gone about halfway up Tollman Street, he apparently realised he was on the wrong road. He attempted to turn round, but for some reason he could not accomplished the manoeuvre, and the lorry commenced to run backwards. Deceased attempted to steer into Charlotte Avenue, but the lorry hit the kerb when going in and turned over on its side, deceased being pinned underneath.
