STAFF DANCE

JOHN CHAMBERS AND SON, LTD. The second annual staff dance of John Chambers and Son, Ltd., was held at the Adelphi Cabaret last night. There were about 60 couples present, and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. Novelties such as streamers, balloons, and paper hats helped to make things bright, while the cabaret band supplied some splendid music. The following committee was responsible for the dance: —Misses G. Cooney, R. Snowden, and L. Steffensen, Messrs. W. Ellis, C. J. Davies, C. Pewhouse, and the hon. secretary, Mr. L. I’. O’Gorman. The following were among those present: —Mrs. Cuthbertson, wearing black georgette and lace with a coat of many coloured brocade; Mrs. Ellis, shot vieux rose taffetas inlet with silver lace; Mrs. Watson (England), georgette in lace made in deep tucks and folds; Miss Cooney, pink moire with long skirt: Miss Snowden, scarlet taffetas; Miss Steffensen, eau-de-nil georgette; Mrs. Jacobssen, deep blue lace finished with points; Mrs. Murray, blaek and silver brocade; Mrs. Telford, black georgette; Miss Janes, blue georgette; Miss P. Cuthbertson, floral georgette in autumn tones; Miss J. Cuthbertson, pink floral taffetas; Mrs. Dunean, black; Miss Caldwell, pink georgette and silver: Mrs. Lawn, heliotrope georgette; Miss Rowband, maize colour; Miss Horne, pink georgette; Miss Young, cream lace; Miss Anderson, floral georgette frock; Mrs. Shaw, white moire with large bow lined with scarlet; Messrs. Cuthbertson, Ellis, Murray, Watson, Duncan, Davies, and O’Gorman. The cabaret was bright anIT warin, and witli the many gaily coloured frocks was very, pretty. Supper was served in the supper room, and cool drinks were handed round during the dancing.
