The monthly meeting of the board of directors of the Y.W.C’.A. was held on Thursday last at the association’s building, Boulcott Street, when there were present Mesdames Pearson (ehairj. Morpeth. Pope, Fraser, Matheson, Webb. Wallis, Adams. Strong. Mitchell. Misses Speedy and Scott (assistant general secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Gardner. Page and Mcßae, Miss McLean,- M.A., 0.8. E., and Miss Loy. The resignation of Mrs. Kellow was received with regret, and Ihe board’s appreciation of her services was recorded. Aliss McLean was granted six months’ leave of absence. The assistant secretary reported that there were no vacancies at the Brougham Street hostel. During the month 199 persons had passed through the Boulcott Street hostel, and an average of 2S had slept in the_hoiise each night. During the month 2707 meals had been served in the cafeteria. The educational classes were well established, the total enrolments being 87. Tt was resolved that the cafeteria would cater for three meals per day (including week-end meals) on and after Wednesday, May 14. Mrs. Pope (lion, treasurer) reported that a concert under the direction of Mrs. Albert Russell would bo hold in the association’s hall on June 4 and 5 .
