COST OF EDUCATION
BRITISH ESTIMATES London, March 9. The Education Estimates amount to £-15,-195,053, an increase of £3,809,754. The memorandum states that £2,123,754 of the increase is due to the development and normal growth of education services. The remaining £1,686,000 is attributable to changes in the financial arrangement consequent on the Local Government Act of 1929. The present cost of elementary education per child is £l3 os. 6d. and the average attendance at public elemen’•ar.v schools 4,890,000.
