THREE ARRIVE AT AUCKLAND Dominion Special. Service. Auckland, March 10. George Machan (aged 25). Harry Derby (aged 28), and Joseph Thorpe (28), all labourers, who arrived from Sydney by the Aorangi this morning, were not on the passenger list of the steamer. They were arrested on arrival at Auckland ou charges of stowing away at Sydney, and they pleaded guilty at the Police Court. “Just ordinary stowaways. I suppose?" said the Magistrate. “Yes, sir,” replied Sub-Inspector McCarthy. “They have no money to pay their fare.” The three were each sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment.”
