TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, January 31, 1930, 4 p.m. An antl-cyelone extends from Tasmania to Northern New Zealand, but a wave of falling pressure is now crossing the Dominion. The cyclone Is gradually moving off the Queensland coast. Winds south-westerly north of Auckland; elsewhere mainly westerly, but backing to southerlies during to-night and to-morrow morning and becoming strong. Seas rather rough on the West Coast and later south of Castlepoint; otherwise moderate or smooth in New Zealand waters. Strong west to south winds In the Eastern Tasman Sea, reaching gale force in the southern portion, with rather rough to Weather fair to fine at first, but becoming unsettled again th® night; scattered rain probable, more especially over the South Island. Temperatures again becoming cooler. Thunder in places.
