At o p.m. on Monday they will be accorded a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr. A. J. Graham). TRIBUTE TO DOMINION Masterton, January 31. In his address to the Masterton Rotary Club yesterday, Lord Craigavon paid warm tribute to New Zealand s tourist resorts. New Zealand, he said, was too good to be overrun by people who did not appreciate its beauties. Thousands and thousands of Britishers flocked over to Lido and the Riviera, but New Zealand contained hundreds of Rivieras and Lidos. Visiting English people would be amazed at all they saw here. The right class of people to visit New Zealand were those who could afford to tour the country properly. These people would be New Zealand’s best advertisers. The treatment of tourists in this country, he declared, was all that could be desired. Every day he took his hat off to the service car drivers, not only because of their skilful and careful driving, but on account of their intelligence. He had found that he could ask these men questions, showing that he was anxious to learn, and with very few exceptions they were ready to meet the inquiries of the tourist. People did not understand what a great asset this was to a country. New Zealand was a beautiful country. When on other holidays he had experienced a feeling that he ought to be back home, but New Zealand seemed to him to be home.
