The boys attending the camp Wellington, Wanganui, and Hutt va ,y secondary schools, and also there were aa their guests others from the Prsbytertai , Anglican, and Salvation Army Boys 11 The 8 camp was situated In an orchard close to the farm house and just by the beach. There was ample shelter from the winds, but once owing to the extremly severe weather some of the tents became saturated with water and the inhabitants had to remove their gear to the woolshed. During the first week the weather was glorious, but from the Bth to the 13th the sky remained overcast with ' occasional showers. From then till the end of the camp the weather was good. There was always something interesting to do in the camp, and nobody found time hanging heavily on their hands. Fishing was always popular, and throughout the day the two boats which had been brought from Picton for that purpose were in use. Towards the end of the camp the larger ofthe boats was rigged up with a mast and sails and was very popular until during an extra heavy wind the sails came to an untimely end by being blown inside out. Launcli trips were arranged and one day the whole party was taken up to Picton. Later another launch trip was made to Ship’s Cove, and then to Endeavour Inlet. Tramping was another interesting pastime, and quite a number of parties were made up to explore the surroundIng bays and hills. On one afternoon the whole camp walked over the hills* to a cherry orchard three or four miles distance. As regards swimming, a parade was held twice a day, and as the bay was very sheltered and warm nearly everybody went into the water. Towards „the end of the camp swimming sports were held and keen competition was displayed between the different tents. In connection with these sports, whale hunts were organised, and later a treasure hunt. A concert was held on the last night'of the camp.

Each Sunday two short services were held at which excellent addresses were given by Padres Watson and Whitby James. On 'the second Sunday an early celebration of the Holy Communion was held in the chapel In the wnolshed. In helping towards the success of the camp the committee has to thank Mr. A. Barker, Mrs. Stuart. Mr. 4- Fletcher, the Toe H. League of Women Helpers, and also parents who sent cakes. Later in the year the “Beacon” will be published, which will contain a list of all the donations received towards the camp, as well as a more detailed account of the camp. The staff in charge consisted of A. Maiyon (camp commandant). Dr. F. Kemp (medical officer), Padres Watson and Whitby James. Drs. Bowerbank and G. Kemp, D. Turnbull (quartermaster), S.
