“MUSIC WEEK”

DOMINION OBSERVANCE Dominion Special Service. , Palmerston North, January 22. A “music week” is to be held throughout the Dominion in August next. The conference of the Nefv Zealand Society of Professional Teachers of Music this morning approved of a programme and circular letter drawn up by a special sub-committee, which will be submitted to all interested bodies in ( the Dominion. According to a roughly drafted programme, choir, organ and band recitals will be. given on the first and second Sundays of the month. The other days will be occupied as follows:—Monday: Male choir. Tuesday: Monster children’s choir. Wednesday: Modern solo music, vocal and Instrumental. Exchange soloists. Thursday: Orchestral and choral. Friday: Lelder and chamber music. Saturday: Massed bands and operatic excerpts. Afternoons: Illustrated musical lectures. Each branch of the society will be responsible for the arrangements in its particular district.
