RED CROSS SOCIETY AND ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

AUCKLAND NOT INVOLVED IN QUARREL. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, January 22. Auckland Is not involved in the dispute over the funds of the British Red Cross Society in New Zealand, from which their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson withdrew their patronage last week. The Red Cross 'Society has an Auckland branch, of which Sir James Gunson is president, and which has representation on the Dominion executive. There is also a joint committee upon which the Society and the Order of St. John arc equally represented by members ot their Auckland executives. This committee, of which Sir James Gunson is chairman, was founded in 1916, and has continued its work without interruption or friction ever since it was estabSir James Gunson stated that no differences of opinion existed regarding the control and disposal of the Red Cross Society’s funds in Auckland.
