CHARITY STAMPS

SIMILAR ISSUE NEXT YEAR Dominion Special Service. Auckland, January 2. “The public’s reception of the Charity Stamp has been very gratifying and the issue is selling readily,” said the Minister of Health (Hon. A. J. Stallworthy) when questioned regarding the sale of the special stamp recently issued to assist the campaign for the prevention of tuberculosis. Mr. Stallworthy said that the actual number of, stamps to be issued had not yet been decided ou. As long as the stamps continued to sell readily it was possible that the issue would be continued until Easter. It was intended to issue a similar stamp just prior to next Christmas, as tlie experience of other countries had been that the charity stamp grew iu popularity each year, as its purpose became better known, and there seemed to be every indication that that experience would be repeated in New Zealand.
