YOUNG MAN OFFERS TO COMMIT SUICIDE
London, December 29.
“I am willing to commit suicide as a test of the truth of spiritualism,” was the amazing declaration of a young man who walked into the London office of the “Daily Chronicle.” “Don’t think lam mad. My family is down and out and £2O will save them. Pay me cash and I will throw myself from the Thames Embankment and then try to communicate from whatever the existence in which I find myself in order to test the claims of spiritualism,” he said. The story of a starving family was found to be true, and the man was dissuaded to give up the rash proposal.
