Punctually at half-past three Father Christmas appeared, escorted to the tree by Sister Price, and the work of distributing the toys to each child was carried out much to the delight of the children. When the last toy was given out the guests and children adjourned to the children’s verandah, where a concert was given by the little, inmates, conducted by Sister Price, consisting of songs, recitations and choruses, which were very much appreciated, all the little performers doing remarkably well. Afternoon tea was dispensed in the dining-room, which was prettily decorated with Iceland'poppies and ferns, and during this interval Mr. Luke (chairman of the Hospital Board) took the opportunity to congratulate Sister Price in the way the afternoon had been organised. A Christmas ■ tree hung with gold nnd silver balls and gaily caparisoned with tinsel streamers was a special feature, while a handsome poster" conveying the association’s greetings for Christmas and the New Year covered one side of the entrance hall.
