"THE PERFECT LOVER”
Italian theatregoers have had their memories stirred by the recent death of Enrico Reinaeh, who was famous in his days as the most perfect lover of the Italian stage. He had an attractive appearance and a beautiful voice, full of soft, persuasive intonations. Women used to crowd the theatre and thrill to his lovesesnes in days when it was less fashionable to “fall” for stage stars' than it is now. Reinaeh acted with all the great Italian actresses of the romantic school, Duse, Virginia Marini, Reiter, and Irma Gramatica. He created no special part; he was just a marvellous instrument of transmission. and this prevented him from ever becoming a really great actor. When lie ceased to be tlie lover, he retired from the stage and taught acting to others.
