The teams still left in the competition are those represented by the following skips:— Wins. Brighting (Hataitai) 9 Sherwood (Lyall Bay) 8 Ardell (Hataitai) 8 Lowry (Kelburn) 8 Parsons (Island Bay) 7 Ferkins (Island Bay) 7 Naylor (Thorndon) 7 POST SECTION PLAY THE DRAW. Post-section play will commence on the Wellington Club’s green at 9 a.m. today. The following is the draw: — First round (9 a.m.),: Parsons v. Naylor. Ferkins, a bye. ' Second round (1 p.m.) : Winner of Parsons-Naylor game v. Ferkins; Ardell v. Lowry. Sherwood, a bye. Third round (4 p.m.) : Winners v. winners; nnd Brighting v. Sherwood. The final game will be played on the Wellington Club's green at 2 p.m. tomorrow. A SENSATIONAL GAME. One of the most sensational games of the tournament was that between Sherwood (Lyall Bay) and Parsons (Island Bay) in the ninth round. Sherwood, with eight wins, was already home and dried for post-section play, but Parsons wanted another win to qualify. Everyone concluded that Sherwood, the one unbeaten skip in the section, would make mince pie of Parsons and Co., but you never can tell. From the outset Parsons persisted in scoring, until on the sixteenth head, the score stood at 23—8 in favour of Parsons. Then Sherwood got five shots on two successive heads, which was gallantly responded to by Parsons, who, with a fine drive, cut out the enemy bowls and lay six shots I Thus it will be seen that sixteen points in all were scored on three successive heads. Sherwood got two on the twentieth head, but as that left him nine points in arrear, it was not necessary to play the twenty-first head.
