OPENING CEREMONY BY EMPEROR
Tokio, December 26.
To-day the Emperor, attired as Generalissimo and escorted by cavalry, proceeded to the House of Peers and personally read a rescript opening Parliament in full ceremony in the presence of Princes, diplomats, and members of the Upper and Lower Houses. After the adoption of Replies to the Throne the Diett adjourned until January 21.
