EFFICIENT SERVICE
SMART WORK BY CITY AMBULANCE Should ever the Occasion arise when a large number of casualties have to be handled with care and expedition the Wellington Free Ambulance service will be found ready and efficient. A thorough test of their ability was afforded yesterday, and tthe Free Ambulance came through the ordeal with flying colours In order' that improvements might be made in the Ewart Ward of the Wellington Hospital .it was necessary that the 41 patients in the ward should be removed to other wards in the hospital. The services of the City Ambulance were called upon, and 26 patients were taken to the fever hospital and fifteen to Ward Bin the main hospital. Five cars were used, and the work was carried out by six members of the permanent staff and two members of the honorary staff of the Free Ambulance. , The work was started at 9 -a.m., and by 11.15 a.m. the whole of the patients had been removed.
