TAIHAPE NOTES
A well-known resident in the person of Mr. William Robert Rice passed away suddenly this week.' Deceased, who had not enjoyed good health for some time, leaves two married daughters and son. He was 50 years of age. Mr. and Mrs. J. IV. Infield arc visiting Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Murrell are spending a few days in Levin. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Marlow, of Huia Street, are New Plymouth visitors to Taihape. Mr. and Mrs.i A. J. Hill and family are on a trip to'Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Hollings and Miss P. Roberts, of Wellington, are ill Taihape for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Smith and family are on a motor trip in the Waikato. To meet the demand for better facilities for loading wool on to trucks in the Taihape railway yards, the Department has lately completed a large loading stage with inclined ramps at cither end. Night gangs have also been employed relaying the track. Mr. and Mrs. F. Reece and family are the guests of Mrs. W. Hamilton, Mangaweka. .. Mr. J. McKenzie is on a trip to Christchurch. t'
