In the Sheffield Shield match Victoria v. New South Wales, the start was delayed by rain, the crowd becoming impatient and hooting the skippers, Ryder and Kippax. Victoria, first innings, 229 (Ryder 0, Ponsford 65, Ellis 25, Hendry 43, Rigg 44). Ryder went out in the first over, touching a ball, which went to Davidson’s hands. Hendry was run out. Everett took five wickets for 57, Hooker three for 48, and McCabe one for 39. New South Wales, in the second innings, has made 8 runs for no wickets (Phillips 6, Fairfax 2.) QUEENSLAND v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA Adelaide, December 26. In the Sheffield Shield match, Queensland v. South Australia, Queensland in their first innings made 380 (Thompson 74, Beust, ad 82, Goodwin 93, Hur wood 51). Grimmett took six wickets fo” 146 and Whitfield three for 51. The South Australians missed ten chances during the day. (Rec. December 26, 11.45 p.m.) Adelaide, December 26. Light rain. was falling when South Australia began its first Innings, and caused an interruption after lunch. The score at stumps was five wickets for 338 (Hone 24, Harris 78, Pritchard 62, Richardson 124, not out).
