OPTION FOR PURCHASE

Wanganui, December JO. A public meeting convened by Mr, T. Warnock was held this morning to discuss the Wanganui Woollen Mills and try to devise some scheme whereby the industry would be put on a sound footing. After tt great deal of discussion, and on Mr. Lilburn’s suggestion, a committee conferred with the directors, who gave full details regarding the finance and reported back to the meeting afterwards. Mr. F. Hill, speaking for the committee, said they had arrived at the unanimous conclusion that the best thing for the company to do was to give an option for the purchase of the concern which had to be taken up one way or another by January 31, as he considered it unlikely that the new purchasers would close the mill if they could make a profit. -
