INTERRUPTIONS TO ELECTRIC

SUPPLY.

Wanganui, December 19.

Arrangements have been made to have steam on the boilers at the power house to-morrow night and on Christmas Eve. The Public Works Department considers that the interruption last Friday night was due to dirty insulators and the clean-ing-of insulators on the BunnythorpeOkoia section will be commenced immediately, being carried out between the hours of-midnight and 5 a.m., during which periods the steam plant will carry the load. . , , Wanganui shops are particularly attractive this year and the goods shown are as varied as one could desire. For the past week the city has been full of buyers and shopkeepers report steady business.
