SHAW SAVILL & ALBION LINE

FERNDALE TO LOAD The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advise that the Aberdeen and Commonwealth Line oil-burning steamer Ferndale has been engaged by the former company to load in New Zealand for Loudon. She is due at Timaru on January 16 from Cairns (Queensland) to commence loading. The ship will subsequently load also at Lyttelton and Wellington, arriving here on January 23. The Ferndale will leave Wellington on January 27 for Gisborne and Auckland to fill up. She will sail finally from Auckland on February 5 for Loudon, via Panama Canal. The Ferndale is a fast oil-burning steamer of 9769 tons gross register, commanded by Captain J. Beighton. She and the Fordsdale were specially built for the Commonwealth Government Line, and were acquired with the “Bay” steamers by the Aberdeen-Commonwealth Line. MAUNGANUI FOR SYDNEY. The inter-colonial passenger steamer Maunganul is scheduled to leave Wellington at 3 p.m. to-day for Sydney, where she is due on Tuesday morning. MAIIENO REPORTS. The Union Company yesterday received a wireless message from the Maheno, which left Melbourne on Tuesday for Wellington, reporting that she expected to arrive in the stream at 7 a.m. on Sunday. The Maheno will leave again on Monday for Melbourne, via Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. MAKURA AT SAN FRANCISCO. The Union Company advise that the Makura, from Wellington, is due at San Francisco to-day. The vessel is scheduled to leave again on December 25 for Papeete, Raratonga, Wellington and Sydney, and *s due here on January 13. INDIBN LEAVES LOS ANGELES. The Union Company report that the Indien, with Pacific Coast cargo, left Los Angeles on December 18 for Auckland, Wellington and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on January 10. THE TUTANEKAI. The Governmetn steamer Tutanekai will leave Wellington this morning for Cape Palliser and other lighthouses in the vicinity of Cook Strait. LONDON TO BLUFF. The New Zealand Shipping Co. advise that their liner Remuera, after loading at London, will leave Southampton on January 17 for Auckland, Port Chalmers, and Bluff. The last-mentioned port has been lately added to the vessel’s ports of discharge. She is due at Auckland on February 24. MATAROA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. report that their liner Mataroa, at present putting out the remainder of her London cargo at Auckland, is to start Homeward loading at Auckland next Friday. She will leave Auckland on December 30 for further loading at Picton, Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington. The Mataroa is due back at Wellington on January IX, and will leave here on January 15 for Southampton and London, via Panama Canal. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Captain J. M. Cameron is in command of the Mahana, now discharging ait Auckland, and he has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr; R. E. Thompson; second, Mr. H. C. Smith; third, Mr. D’ArcyMasters; fourth, Mr. M. J. Stewart; wireless operator, Mr. P. Whiffen; chief engineer, Mr. j. McKersie; second, Mr. F. Gibbons; third, Mr. G. Brown; fourth, Mr. G. Burnham; fifth, Mr. F. Morgan; sixth, Mr. J. Purvis; seventh, Mr. H. Roberts; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. D. McDougall; second, Mr. E. Rlghiton; chief steward, Mr. F. Routledge. PACIFIC COAST LOADINGS. Forward loadings at Pacific Coast ports are approximately as follow:—The Waitemata will load during January for Auckland, Wellington, Bluff and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on January 21, and is due at Auckland on February 15. The Waihemo will load during the latter part of January and early in February tor Napier, Lyttelton. Dunedin, Nelson and New Plymouth. She is to clear Los Angeles on February 8, and is due at Napier on March 5. The Hauraki will load during the latter part of January and early February, for Auckland, Wellington and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on February 10, and is due at Auckland on March 3. LINERS COASTWISE. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion motor-ship Taranaki is to sail from Wellington at noon to-morrow for London, via Panama Canal. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Maimoa cleared New Plymouth yesterday for Auckland and Napier to complete loading for London. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Mahana, at prseent discharging Liverpool cargo at Auckland, will leave the latter port on Sunday for Wellington, where she is due on Tuesday morning. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Mahia is due at Bluff this morning from Lyttelton to continue loading. She is to leave Bluff on Monday for Timaru. The Federal liner Norfolk is to leave Gisborne to-night for Waikokopu and Wellington to proceed with her loading for London. She is due here on Monday morning. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruahine is due at Wellington about midday to-day from Timaru, and will berth at the King’s Wharf to put out the remainder of her London cargo. The Federal liner Cambridge arrived at Port Chalmers at 8 a.m. yesterday from Wanganui roadstead for loading. She will leave the Otago port at 5 p-m. to-day for Lyttelton. The Federal liner Cornwall arrived at Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m. yesterday from Wellington to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. The vessel will leave Lyttelton to-morrow for Dunedin. The C. and D. liner Port Darwin arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. yesterday from Wellington to continue discharge of her New York cargo. She will leave Lyttelton this evening for Timaru. The C. and D. liner Port Campbell got away from New Plymouth yesterday for Wanganui roadstead to continue loading for London.

The Scales steamer Bencruachan arrived at Tolago Bay yesterday from Ficton for further loading. The vessel next proceeds to Napier.

COLLIERS’ MOVEMENTS. Wet and stormy weather has considerably delayed shipping on the West Coast for some days past. The Kahika is at present loading at Westport for Miramar. The Kaimai left here yesterday for Greymouth to load for Wellington and Miramar. The Komata is due here this morning from Westport, and will return again tomorrow to the same port to load again for Wellington. The Kanna left here yesterday for New Plymouth, thence to Greymouth, to load for Auckland. ' The Kaitoki is at present loading at Westport for Wellington and Auckland. The Kaitangata left Greymouth yesterday for Miramar and Wellington. The Ngatoro is to leave Grey mouth thia afternoon for Miramar. The Alexander, due here to-day from Taranaki, will leave again to-morrow for Westport and Grey mouth.
