RETAIL PRICES IN THE CITY SHORTAGE OF APPLES PREDICTED Not a great deal of variation in the retail prices of foodstuffs was recorded in the city yesterday. The shipment of American apples earlier in the week was particularly small and there are indications that for the Chhritmas season this fruit will be consider-, ably dearer. New season’s peaches are now on sale at from lOd. to I/- per lb.
