A COLLEGE BURSARY
PERPETUATING MEMORY OF TWO SONS , The Wellington College Board of Governors, at a meeting yesterday afternoon, received a letter from Mr. John Gallie, Kelburn, advising that he had paid to the Public Trustee £lOOO to be invested in the common fund, the net amount of the interest thereby derived to be paid to the board free of any charge whatsoever for the establishment of a College bursary to perpetuate the memory of his two sons who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War. They were Captain Oscar E. Gallic, D. 5.0., M.C., R.F.A., and Captain Victor J. Gallie, M.C., C. de G., R.F.A.
Mr. Gallic expressed the wish that the board might be long spared to award the-bursary, and his desire was that it might stimulate the recipient of the award to emulate his sons, both “old hoys,” in character, patriotism, and devotion to duty. The chairman (Mr. W. H. P. Barber) said he thought that there was no better way by which Mr.'Gallie could perpetuate the memory of his sons. The board was very grateful for the gift.
