SCOTT GAINS VERDICT OVER VON PORAT * FOUL IN SECOND ROUND (Rec. December 10, 7 p.m.) New York, December 9. In a twelve-round bout at Madison Square Garden Scott (20441 b. gained the verdict over Von Porat (19811 b by a foul in the second round. After a mediocre opening, before a record crowd of notables, the'widely-heralded fight ended suddenly, when Vou Porat, reaching for the elusive Britisher’s body, landed a low blow. Jack Dempsey, who was refereeing the fight for charity, was uncertain for a -few moments, and urged Scott to go on, but Scott slowly sank to the canvas, clutching his middle and grimacing. It was apparent he was in pain. Dempsey lifted Scott like a baby, but the Britisher refused to continue. He gravelled and wept as he was led to his stool. .
