MURDERS BY NATIVES
BELIEF IN BLACK MAGIC Capetown, November 27.
Six natives were sentenced to death for the murder of seven occupants of a kraal. The evidence established that the natives believed that the owner of the kraal was responsible for black magic causing several deaths in the neighbourhood.
A native advocate pleaded for mercy on the grounds that the natives were impelled by religious fanaticism, which would continue until another Eastern star appeared. The Court indicated that it would support a recommendation for mercy.
